I am Sophie and I have joined Kidwells as a Family Paralegal working in the Hereford Office after finishing four long years at University.
I completed my law degree at Oxford Brookes graduating with a high 2:1. This enabled me to go and complete my Legal Practice Course where I am very proud to say I obtained a high commendation. I am now awaiting my Masters in Law result.
Before working at Kidwells, what was the most interesting job you’ve had?
I worked at Red Indigo in Hay-on-Wye as a barmaid. I loved this job and still continue to work there occasionally to help out.
It is an Indian restaurant so not only did I get to socialise with customers but I learned a lot about the Indian culture.
I particularly loved working over Hay Festival week as we would occasionally meet some famous faces. I would also get to watch and appreciate the Ramadam period during this time.
What do you enjoy outside of work?
I keep myself active regularly attending Pole Fitness in Hereford. I am also fortunate in that my home is surrounded by the Black Mountains including Pen y Fan and Hay Bluff I try to walk there when it is not raining!
What was the last film you went to? What did you think?
The last film I saw was The Greatest Showman. This has now become my new favourite film and I have watched it numerous times. I also have the soundtrack for it in my car and now know it off by heart. To take matters to the extreme, I attended a workshop in Hereford to learn one of the dances from the film!
Aside from necessities, what one thing could you not go a day without?
Chocolate. I could not live without it. I don’t think I go a day without having a bar of the stuff or something containing it. It is my kryptonite.
