Business people from across the area joined us last night to listen and take part in a seminar by Michael Barrow who is a door tenant ofKidwells Barristers’ Chambers and Linenhall Chambers in Chester.
The subject of the event was directors duties and shareholder litigation with some mediation thrown in. For those who hold a directorship Michael went through the summary of the changes following the Company’s Act 2006 and their commitment to their company. Also discussed was shareholder disputes, how it can happen and how judges prefer mediation to sort conflict as opposed to the courts. It was an interesting topic even to those of us who were neither a director nor a shareholder.
We thank Michael for sparing the time to give us an insight into this complicated subject.
